In addition to ORS' active grants, the following is a list of grants that were also award to ORS. The list includes awards that were either turned down by ORS due to timing issues or they were completed and archived. We are proud to partner with like-minded organizations to provide resources to rural Texas communities!
ORS is proud to have received supplemental grants of $40,000 for each of our four Upward Bound Programs for the 2018-2019 academic year, totaling $160,000. These supplemental funds are earmarked to provide computer science services to our participants. We plan to offer computer science workshops throughout the academic year, robotics and coding classes during our summer program, and intensive hands-on STEM activities on our academic/summer field trips.
ORS is proud to be one of 26 recipients to receive a Community Outdoor Outreach Program (CO-OP) grant for $21,543 in 2015. It is funded through Texas Parks and Wildlife Department.Grantees include cities, non-profits, school districts, and entire communities with one thing in common: A focus on natural and cultural resources and developing future stewards of the environment.
ORS was proud to be one of the recipients of a Talent Search grant in 2015. Unfortunately, this grant had to be sent back due to timing issues and other unforeseen circumstances. Talent Search is funded by the Department of Education and serves low-income and first-generation students, supporting their entry into post-secondary education.
